ARE YOU THE PARENT OF A TEENAGER?

Welcome to my World

Do you struggle to communicate with your teenage child? Just can't seem to understand each other? Looking for a better way to see their perspective, and for them to see yours?

Welcome to My World is a new television series for Channel 4 Education and we're looking for parents and teenagers to take part.

We'll film elements of your two very different worlds - the ups and downs, responsibilities and pressures of adult life, and the different ups and downs, intrigues and issues of life as a teenager.

Then it's time to see things from the other point of view - you'll watch the films of each others' lives, and get closer to understanding how the other lives. It's a chance to build on your new-found knowledge about each other - a way to communicate and discuss what you've each discovered, and a way to perhaps make a new start, set new terms for your relationship.

If you're interested in taking part we'd love to hear from you, by email or by phone (we'll happily arrange a time to call you if you'd prefer).

Tell us a bit about yourself in an email; Annabel@lambentproductions.co.uk

or call 01273 648 380 and ask to speak to Sally or Annabel.

If your child has a phobia and you would be interested in taking part in this article, please contact Amy Caulfield at amy.caulfield@pa-entertainment.co.uk or on 01430 455685.

Thank you - I look forward to hearing from you.

Good Housekeeping magazine .... Added 18/12/06

I am a journalist doing a story for Good Housekeeping magazine about modern
families. I am looking for a lady who has children, who has got together
with a man who also has children to make one mega-family! It would be a
very positive article looking at the ups and downs of that sort of family
and should make a great feature.

It would involve being interviewed over the phone, and having a picture
taken of the whole family,

If you can help or know someone who could pls do get in touch either by
email lucy.bulmer@natmags.co.uk or phone 020 7439 5190

Many thanks, Lucy

Positive Parenting: The Voice of the Unsung Hero. I am putting together case studies for a book I am writing celebrating the lives of single parenting. The book will take a frank, witty and candid look at the lives of a selection of single parents challenging the often negative stereotypes. I want to talk to a variety of single parents who against the odds have raised (or are raising) well balanced children – e.g. those who were raised by a single parent yet have gone on to have successful marriages, careers etc, those who became single parents during their teens whose children have/are doing very well, those who were single parents before the 1970’s, those single parents running their own businesses as well as those with sucessful careers and many others to hear your experiences of parenting solo. Age, race and religious denomination is immaterial - in fact the more varied the background the better. All those who raise children alone need to know they can do it and remember that others before them did it.
This book will serve as a reminder.

For an informal chat, please email your name and contact details to singleparentsrock@yahoo.co.uk
I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you. Arit
