Once the kids are tucked up in bed many Lone single Parents can begin to find the silence too much to bear. Evenings are often the time when we really feel lonely, especially if going out is not an option for whatever reason. This is when most single parents can perhaps start to feel a bit low. On this site we have a chat room where you can chat to other lone parent members, make new friends and have a laugh. |
This chat room breaks a few stereotype idea's that are often associated with Internet chat rooms, i.e. bad or sleazy. How is this site different ! .. Well It's not full of people "pulling", it's not full of teenagers chatting and everyone who uses it is a site member, so they are all known. It's a safe place for support, advice and (or) friendship, new people are made to feel welcome and there is a procedure for moderating so any behavior which could be deemed as inappropriate, is dealt with immediately.
Sometimes, the chat can get a bit silly, with lots of jokes and general banter, other times, people simply share and (or) air their problems. Members are encouraged to talk about their day to day life. Therefore offering support and advice for the times, when we feel we perhaps have no where else to turn, and (or) no one else to talk to, and to have a giggle when we feel low of course. So no matter how you may be feeling, the chat room is there for you, and many members have made long lasting friendships from talking to other members, so take the plunge and give it a go ;)
On Monday nights we have a quiz, the winner can set the questions for the next week. This is a good ice breaker, if you are new and unsure about using the chat room. New members can feel a bit unsure at first about entering the chat room if they haven't used one before. So if you would like to give it a try but feel anxious about it, get in touch with one of the moderators who will be happy to go in with you and support you, thus making things a bit more easy going and much more comfortable.

hand side near the bottom, click on the envelope next to a moderators
name to send them a PM ... (Private message).
